FAQ

Will my lashes get damaged and fall out if I get semi-permanent eyelash extensions?

Answer: Sandey has been trained and certified by Novalash and has applied over 2000 semi-permanent eyelash extension services. Properly applied extensions on a one by one basis will not damage your natural lashes. Novalash is currently the industry leader in developing safe, high quality cosmetic adhesives, based on components from surgical glue (not products originally used in automobile manufacturing). Because lash extension products are used in such close proximity to the eye, Novalash uses a physician-developed bonding system with United States safety standards in mind. This adhesive is pharmaceutical grade and is one of the only formaldehyde free manufactured adhesives on the market.

Who gets semi-permanent eyelash extensions?

Answer: Eyelash extensions are great for special events, eye enhancement, or for anyone who wants to have longer more lushes lashes. They are very popular with celebrities, brides, and models. For your convenience eyelash extensions can be worn all year round.

Can Cancer/Chemotherapy recovery patients get eyelash extensions?

Answer: Novalash eyelash extensions may be applied upon completing chemotherapy and once the lashes have started to grow in. For best results, Sandey recommends starting with thinner eyelashes; over time you will be able to gradually apply thicker eyelash extensions. This prevents putting to much stress on the new lashes growing back in patches.

What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions... does it hurt?

Answer: This delicate service is very comfortable, your eyes are closed and you can listen to relaxing music. Many clients drift off to sleep during the procedure. The initial application takes approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.

How are semi-permanent eyelash extensions applied?

Answer: Eyelash extensions are a great way to lengthen and thicken your own natural lashes. The extensions are made of a synthetic material that is applied lash by lash while the client is lying down with eyes closed.

Will eyelash extensions damage my own lashes or irritate my sensitive eyes?

Answer: Eyelash extensions are safe. The extension is attached to one hair at a time and the glue does not touch the skin which works great for people with sensitive eyes. Be aware of “lash extensions” using “clusters or strips” on your lashes with permanent glue, these are NOT eyelash extensions and can damage your own natural lashes and cause irritation on people with sensitive eyes.

How long do semi-permanent eyelash extensions last?

Answer: Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks when properly cared for. The extensions will shed with the natural growth cycle of your own lashes. If you choose to get touch-ups in between they will last as long as you continue to fill them in. Touch-ups are recommended every 2-3 weeks in order to maintain a full set.

Are there different sizes of extensions?

Answer: Yes there are different sizes depending on the “look” you want, dramatic or natural.  Sandey can help recommend what look and size is best for you. Sandey carries a wide assortment of lashes ranging from thin, thick to extra thick in 6mm-16mm lengths.

How do I care for my lashes after I get eyelash extensions?

Answer: It is critical that for 24 hours after the lash application you do not get your lashes wet with any products or water. Doing so will result in loss of extensions prematurely. Do not use and eyelash curler. Do not use waterproof mascara. Only use mascara that is formulated for eyelash extensions. Do not pull, tug or rub your eyes and eyelashes, because it may cause you to pull out your own natural lash.

How much do eyelash extensions cost?

Answer: Eyelash extensions can range anywhere from $150 to $350 for a full set.

Can I wear eyelash extensions if I swim, sweat when I workout, or use the sauna?

Answer: Yes, women that do these activities get lash extensions because there is no need to wear mascara with extensions. Depending on how much you do these activities you may need touch ups more often.

What is the difference between Lashes by Sandey and extensions from other companies?

Answer: Sandey is a perfectionist and loves the art of applying eyelash extensions. She has applied over 2000 semi-permanent eyelash extension services and uses Novalash products which are the highest quality products on the market.

Do's and Dont's

Make sure your eyelash extension specialist is licensed esthetician in the state you are getting the service. Licenses vary from state to state.

1. Verify that your eyelash extension specialist is certified in eyelash extensions.

2. Make sure they are experienced in eyelash extensions.

3. True eyelash extensions should be applied with your eyes closed. If the procedure is done with your eyes open, you should not continue with the procedure and question what they are putting on or near your eyes.

4. Glue should never touch your skin.

5. Clusters or strips glued to your lashes are NOT eyelash extensions and will cause damage to your natural lash which may be permanent.

7. Each single eyelash extension should be attached to each individual eyelash. There should never be an extension attached to more than one eyelash.

8. Only one eyelash should be attached to each eyelash. Rhinestones and other “jewels” attached to eyelashes may cause permanent damage to your natural eyelashes.
